Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz: 'There was a point when I thought we'd never play music again'

Fall Out Boy star Pete Wentz has admitted that he once thought the band would never play together again.

The US rock group went on hiatus in 2009 before resuming with the 2013 record 'Save Rock and Roll'.

They unleashed their latest effort 'American Beauty/American Psycho' in the UK this week (January 19) and it is currently No.1 in the country.

Speaking to The Sun, bassist Pete Wentz said that he previously thought the band would split for good.

He said: "It means a great deal to us.

"There was a point when I thought we'd never play or make music again. Then we re-emerged and it's cool we have a place in music again."

Patrick Stump added: "But we still feel like underdogs, even after all this time, and that will never change. Every time we achieve something there is a new peak and valley scenario. And whatever point we are at we are always the least likely people to be in that situation."
