Meghan Trainor debuts at No. 1 on UK album chart

Meghan Trainor’s debut album, ‘Title’, has shot straight to the top of the UK album chart.

‘Title’ is the debut LP from the 21-year-old singer-songwriter and contains her two doo-wop hit singles, ‘All About That Bass’ and ‘Lips Are Movin’’.

Meghan Trainor outsold Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’, which is at No. 2 this week, by 5000 copies in order to secure the No. 1 spot.

Last week’s chart topper from Mark Ronson with ‘Uptown Special’ is now down to No. 3.

The rest of the Top Five is made up by two non-movers – Sam Smith’s ‘In The Lonely Hour’ at No. 4 and George Ezra’s ‘Wanted On Voyage’ at No. 5.

Other than Meghan Trianor, further new entries to this week’s album chart come from The Charlatans at No. 7 with ‘Modern Nature’, Rae Morris’ ‘Unguarded’ at No. 9, Papa Roach at No. 13 with ‘F.E.A.R.’, Gaz Coombes’ ‘The Matador’ at No. 18, and Bethel Music’s ‘We Will Not Be Shaken – Live’ at 34.
