Meghan Trainor on GRAMMY nomination: 'I want Sam Smith to win instead of me'

'All About The Bass' songstress Meghan Trainor has opened up about battling Sam Smith for a GRAMMY at the upcoming ceremony and admitted that she would be happy to lose out to such amazing talent.

The beauty is going head-to-head with vocal powerhouse Sam Smith for the Song of the Year GRAMMY award and she confessed that despite being in competition with him, she hopes that he wins the gong over her because she's a huge fan:

"I want Sam to win, even though he's going against me."

Trainor went onto add that having a smash hit single has opened many doors for her because now huge names are calling her up to ask to write music with them:

"Now I have Pharrell [Williams] calling saying he wants to write. I've written with Harry Styles. I want to do something with Rihanna and even Beyoncé likes my music. She's like: 'My daughter and I dance to your music.' It proves no-one cares if you don't have a hit."
