Katy Perry to perform with domestic abuse victim at Grammys

Katy Perry will perform alongside a survivor of domestic abuse at this year's Grammy Awards.

The singer will line up with Brooke Axtell at the Los Angeles event on Sunday (February 8).

They will perform Perry's 2013 song 'By The Grace of God', with Axtell reading a spoken word piece.

The domestic abuse survivor told People: "It's an honour to collaborate with Katy in this way. She has been very devoted to various aspects of female empowerment.

"It's going to bring a lot of encouragement and freedom to those who hear my story and know that they are not alone in this. I don't see myself as a victim. I see myself as a warrior for peace and healing."

Grammys producer Ken Erlich commented: "It is one thing to have Katy sing.

"But why would we not want to accompany it with someone's personal experience who could humanise [domestic abuse] and make it relatable to millions of men and women who are survivors."
