Nicki Minaj tour crew member stabbed to death outside bar

A crew member from Nicki Minaj's upcoming tour has died after being stabbed.

Police have confirmed that 29-year-old De'Von Pickett died in hospital after being struck with a knife outside the Che Bar & Grill in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane area in early Wednesday morning.

He was due to work on Minaj's upcoming Pink Print live show as a tour manager.

Colleague Eric Reed was also injured in the attack.

Minaj took to Instagram to confirm that the duo were only days into their job as they prepared for the tour.

She wrote alongside a photo of the pair: "These guys flew into Philly for my tour rehearsals 2 days ago and were both stabbed last night. #RIPDAYDAY.

"Condolences to your family. Unbelievable. Eric (on the right) is recovering. Another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy. So sad."

The rapper previously said: "Two members of my team were stabbed last night in Philly. One was killed. They had only been there for two days rehearsing for the tour."

De'Von Pickett had worked with the likes of Rihanna and Lady Gaga in the past, with the former posting online:

"Can't believe this is true! One of the nicest, coolest, funniest people I've ever met and toured with! We had so much fun together!!! Sad to lose a beautiful spirit like yours #RIPDayDay."

Minaj's Pink Print tour meanwhile is due to kick off in Stockholm on March 16.
