Iggy Azalea pushes Great Escape tour back by 5 months: 'It'll be way more amazing'

Australian rapper Iggy Azalea has announced that her upcoming Great Escape tour will not be kicking off in April as originally scheduled.

The jaunt was due to begin on April 14 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California, but a Def Jam Recordings representative has now confirmed that it has been pushed back "to accommodate for creative team availability and tour productions". The statement reads:

"To accommodate for creative team availability and tour productions, it was determined that the tour will not be ready this spring. It's important to Iggy that she delivers the show she envisaged to share with her fans and that requires more time in development... There's no truth to the rumour that there's any conflict between her and her management."

A message was posted from Azalea's official Twitter page this afternoon, which explains that the delay means the concerts will be even better: "The tour getting pushed back only means that it'll be way more amazing than it would've been in April. Good things take time."

Her Great Escape north American tour will now launch with a date in San Diego, California on September 18.
