Shawn Mendes announces debut album's new release date: 'We did it! You guys rock!'
Canadian rising star Shawn Mendes has confirmed that his debut album, entitled 'Handwritten', will now be released two weeks earlier than planned.
Yesterday, the heartthrob told his fans that if they broke set social media milestones he would move the release date of his debut album forward and he has now shared an update on the record and when it will drop.
Mendes took to his official Twitter page this afternoon (March 11) and told his 2.77 million followers: "We did it! Broke our views record & got over 1 million mentions on the video, so we are moving the album date up! #ShawnsNewAlbumDate. Thank u guys so much for being so dedicated! My album release date has been moved up to April 14th! You all rock!"
The initial release date of 'Handwritten' was scheduled for April 27 so it has been pushed up by a significant amount of time thanks to the hitmaker's devoted online followers.
