Ellie Goulding and Ryan Tedder support 'bullied' X Factor New Zealand contestant

The likes of Ellie Goulding and Ryan Tedder have voiced their support for a 'bullied' X Factor New Zealand singer.

Husband and wife duo Natalia Kills and Willy Moon were sacked as judges on the programme after making disparaging comments about Joe Irvine on Sunday (March 15).

Their barbed comments raised accusations of bullying and Ed Sheeran was one of the first stars to speak out in support of Irvine.

Ellie Goulding has now joined Sheeran in comforting the singer, saying on Twitter:

"Can't stop myself from commenting on NZ X factor situation because I can't stop thinking about how mean it was. Thank goodness they're gone."

OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder meanwhile said: "Just watched the most insanely over the top & soul-less critiques/bashings of a singer on TV by 2 unmentionables. KEEP SINGING @jooe63_joe."

Kelly Osbourne also had her say on Twitter, referring to Kills' accusation that Irvine copied her husband Moon:

"#NataliaKills is one to talk about originality especially when she stole her look from @HANNAH_MARSHALL!"
