Superstar David Beckham has revealed the reason behind his decision to shave off his bushy beard. 

The footballer revealed to James Corden during an interview on 'The Late Late Show' that he had to get rid of the facial hair because his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, refused to kiss him because of it: 

"[She said] there's no way I'm kissing you unless you shave that off'. I left it for a day and I was like, 'You know what I'm going to have to do it.'"

Despite fashion designer Victoria's dislike of his beard, he went onto add that daughter Harper was quite a fan of it: "My little girl would just sit there and mess around with it."

Last summer, David and Victoria Beckham celebrated their 15-year wedding anniversary and Victoria shared a photograph on Twitter of them together on their wedding day: "15 beautiful years. We feel so blessed and thankful for your love and support over the years. Such a special day x."
