Angelina Jolie: 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger'

Angelina Jolie thinks people grow in strength when they overcome obstacles.

The actress recently revealed that she had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed to reduce her risk of developing cancer.

She also previously had a double mastectomy because of her cancer gene.

Speaking to Ellie, Jolie said that she subscribes to the idea that "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger".

The US star said: "I do believe in the old saying, 'What does not kill you makes you stronger'.

"Our experiences, good and bad, make us who we are. By overcoming difficulties, we gain strength and maturity."
