Adam Lambert reveals the advice given to him by Queen about his new album

Superstar Adam Lambert has been touring the world with iconic rock band Queen over the last couple of years and he has revealed that Brian May and Roger Taylor gave him some great advice about writing his new album.

During an interview with Billboard magazine, the vocal powerhouse explained that May and Taylor told him the best thing to do as a musician is be true to yourself and to honour your artistic integrity: "Just to keep it real. They encouraged me to be who I am, which is great. Coming from a band with a legacy like that, it's important."

He went onto add that he has formed a great bond with Queen: "They're really good guys and we're all very comfortable with each other. Both Brian and Roger are both very paternal with me. We play a lot on stage; there's a lot of ad-libbing and free-styling."

Lambert's forthcoming new single, entitled 'Ghost Town', is due to be unveiled later this month on April 21 and he teased that it's a 'darker' offering: "I was trying to strip away some of the pageantry from pop that I had already delved into. I like what I've done in the past, but it was time to strip back the theatricality and the camp. There's some reality in there."
