Meghan Trainor on anti-feminist criticism: 'It really surprised me'

Songstress Meghan Trainor has confessed that she is really surprised by the backlash against her song 'Dear Future Husband' because she doesn't believe the message it contains is anti-feminist.

When asked about the public's reaction to the track, the beauty admitted that she was shocked to see it so widely criticised because she didn't write it from a sexist viewpoint:

"I'm just surprised the random places people are asking me if I was being sexist. But no, I don't believe I was. I think I was just writing my song to my future husband out there, wherever he is. He's chilling right now, taking a minute getting ready for me; it's going to be great."

Back in February, Trainor told Seventeen magazine that she is still on the hunt for a boyfriend, but she isn't making romance a priority at the moment:

“I knew my life would be complicated if my dreams of becoming a success in music came true. And I knew I’d have to work hard to achieve those dreams, and that they’d have to take a front seat in my life. So even though I went crazy in high school, now I haven’t kissed a boy in forever. I keep telling myself that the right guy is going to be worth the wait.”
