Avril Lavigne to release song this year about her Lyme disease battle

Songstress Avril Lavigne recently revealed that the illness she has been fighting for the past few months is Lyme disease and she has written a song about her struggle that she plans to release before the end of the year.

During a new interview with Billboard, Lavigne confessed that she will be releasing a new song on April 16, entitled 'Fly', for the 2015 Special Olympics World Games, she’s planning to record a Christmas album, and she recently penned a track that was inspired by her illness.

"This is all happening organically — I wasn’t thinking, ‘Oh, when am I going to make a record?’ It just happened. I wrote a song, and I want to release that song this year too, because it’s about my battle and the fight that I’ve had to put up.”

The beauty went onto add that she isn't rushing to create new music or to get back into the spotlight because she realises her recovery comes first and will allow herself as much time as she needs in order to feel better:

“I’m doing things at my speed and never being too overwhelmed, like the way I have in the past.  really want to enjoy everything, because life is good. And even though this circumstance is unfortunate, I think there are a lot of positives with it. I’m definitely choosing to view it that way.”
