Blake Shelton: 'I said no to a collaboration with Pitbull'

Country superstar Blake Shelton, who is currently working as a coach on 'The Voice', has revealed that he had to turn down the chance to collaborate with hitmaker Pitbull because he didn't think his fans would be too impressed.

Speaking to On Air with Ryan earlier this morning, the star admitted that he couldn't agree to the duet because Pitbull's audience is very different to his own and he wasn't sure how the public would react:

"I got real close to doing a song with Pitbull one time, (but) there's just something about me being like a middle America country artist saying the word motherf**ker over and over again. It was like, 'Man, I just don't know if that's going to go over with my soccer moms'. So I opted not to, but I was honoured."

Shelton, meanwhile is known for his funny banter with fellow 'The Voice USA' coach Adam Levine and on March 31 he tweeted: "So cute that @adamlevine wants @usher back. Probably because Usher has only beat him 1 time, and I’ve beat him… FOUR times. #VoiceKnockouts."
