Shawn Mendes reveals most embarrassing moment and terrifying earliest memory

Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes has revealed that his earliest memory is quite a frightening one

During a new interview with Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, the rising star admitted that he can remember almost drowning when he was a young child: "...Almost drowning as a kid at the pool [in Pickering, Canada]. All I remember is being underwater and being pulled out."

He also shared his most embarrassing moment and confessed that it happened on stage in front of thousands of people: "Fumbling my words on stage in Philadelphia. I was between songs and meant to tell the fans to ‘Sing along if you know the words’, but it came out as an entirely jumbled sentence of gibberish!"

The 'Stitches' sensation, meanwhile, has just been confirmed to perform at this year's Radio Disney Music Awards. The ceremony is due to take place on April 25 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California and other acts who will take the stage include Nick Jonas and Fifth Harmony.
