Fifth Harmony: 'Getting praised by Mariah Carey meant the world to us'

The girls of Fifth Harmony have a song on their debut album 'Reflection' that was inspired by Mariah Carey and they have now revealed that getting her seal of approval on the track made them so happy.

The cut, which is titled 'Like Mariah', was heard by Carey back in February and she tweeted about it at the time, writing: "#nowplaying #LikeMariah by @FifthHarmonylove it!! I appreciate and enjoy ya! Congratulations on your album!!"

Speaking to Idolator recently, member Dinah Jane Hansen admitted that hearing praise from the vocal sensation herself was amazing and it was a moment she and the other girls will never forget:

“Sometimes when people make a song about a certain person that they really love, they don’t really recognize them. Or they hear the song and they’re like, ‘Eh, I don’t feel it.’ But the fact that she gave us recognition? It was amazing. Coming from a legend?!”

Songstress Normani Kordei added that she looked up to Carey while she was growing up so the support means the world: “It meant even more to us because we grew up idolising her.”
