Shawn Mendes reveals Taylor Swift duet hopes: 'We need to write music together'

Canadian sensation Shawn Mendes will join Taylor Swift as the main support act on her upcoming 1989 Tour this summer and he has revealed that collaborating with her would be a dream come true.

Speaking to Universal Music Sweden recently, the heartthrob admitted that he really wants to write a song with her and can even imagine the way it might sound:

"I hope so, I really do. I don't know her well, but I know her. I've hung out with her a few times and she's amazing. Hopefully we could write a song together if we get some off-time. It'd be country mixed with pop? Acoustic?"

When asked about the support he gets from his fans, Mendes explained that there's nothing like it: "It's hard to explain, it's completely surreal. You get your adrenaline rush and you feel... uh, obviously excited, but it feels like you're in a dream. It's incredible and they (my fans) really appreciate my music. They like the meaning behind it and that means the world to me."

Mendes, meanwhile has thanked his fans after his debut album, entitled 'Handwritten', shot straight in at No.1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and he tweeted: "Thankyou all so so so so so so much for this #1 album. I owe it all to you. You guys are the best. Love you so much xx."
