Carly Rae Jepsen scores midweek UK No.1 single with 'I Really Like You'

Canadian songstress Carly Rae Jepsen, who has now been announced as one of the performers at this year's Capital FM Summertime Ball, has shot into the top of the UK singles chart with her new song 'I Really Like You'.

She entered at No.1 on today's midweek update with the catchy track and it's currently 1,000 copies ahead of its nearest competitor, pushing Wiz Khalifa’s 'See You Again' ft. Charlie Puth down one place to No.2. OMI’s summer anthem 'Cheerleader' slides one place to No.3, followed by Jess Glynne’s 'Hold My Hand' at 4. Rounding out the Top 5 is Major Lazer's 'Lean On' ft. MO and DJ Snake.

Elsewhere on the UK Top 40, Swedish DJ and producer Alesso is on track to score a fourth Top 10 with his Roy English collaboration, Cool, at No.6, grime artist Skepta has made an appearance with 'Shutdown' at No.22, and Taylor Swift's 'Style' is up 4 positions to No.37.
