Nathan Sykes: 'I'm really bad at flirting'

Hitmaker Nathan Sykes, formerly of The Wanted fame, has opened up about the meaning behind his debut solo single during a new interview with ET Online.

Referring to his debut single 'Kiss Me Quick', the singer admitted that it's about the fact that he's terrible at flirting so just goes straight in for the kill: "Basically the idea of the single is that I'm really bad at flirting. Like, straight up so bad at flirting. So it's a bit cheeky, it's a bit flirty, it's quite playful. It's basically just asking someone for a kiss."

Sykes then opened up about the style of his solo material, which is significantly different to anything he released as a member of The Wanted, and added that he really challenged himself vocally:

"I think it's a bigger departure from the music I was doing before than I expected, if I'm being completely honest. But as I was writing the music I was like, 'Oooh! This is, like, really cool. I like this.' And then I started challenging myself more vocally when I was in the studio."
