Blur confirm 3 UK headlining concerts

Iconic Brit-pop band Blur have announced a series of three concerts that will take place in England, Wales and Scotland later this summer.

The group, who shot straight in at the top of the UK albums chart with 'The Magic Whip' this weekend, will take the stage in Glasgow, Blackpool and Llandudno this June for the special headlining gigs.

Tickets for the shows are £35 each (plus booking fee) and will be available from 10am on Friday, May 8.

The band's frontman, Damon Albarn, recently told The Sunday Times that he doesn't understand the self-importance of the new generation of artists:

"Young artists talk about themselves, not what's happening out there. It's the selfie generation. They're talking platitudes. What are any of them saying? I don't hear anything other than, 'This is how I feel'. Which is an important part of song-writing, but we're talking in the context of the election - and they don't have anything to do with it."

  • June 9 - Glasgow, Barrowlands
  • June 10 - Blackpool, Empress Ballroom
  • June 11 - Llandudno, Cymru Arena
