Mumford & Sons debut at the top of the UK album chart

Mumford & Sons have stormed to No. 1 with their latest album ‘Wilder Mind’.

‘Wilder Mind’ is the third album release from the folk rock group. It gives the band their second chart-topping LP following on from their last album ‘Babel’. Their debut, ‘Sigh No More’ peaked at No. 2 back in 2009.

Mumford & Sons have sold 81,300 copies of ‘Wilder Minds’ over the last seven days and managed to demote Blur’s ‘The Magic Whip’ to the No. 2 slot.

Sam Smith is back at No. 3 as ‘In The Lonely Hour’ has risen five places.

Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’ is also on the rise again, up from No. 7 to No. 4 this week.

Sia’s ‘1000 Forms of Fear’ rounds off the Top Five as the record has surged from No. 13 to No. 5.

Other than Mumford & Sons' No. 1 debut, further new entries to the album chart come from JME at No. 12 with ‘Integrity>’, Django Django at No. 15 with ‘Born Under Saturn’, Lucy Spraggan’s ‘We Are’ at No. 22, Palma Violets at No. 25 with ‘Danger In The Club’, and S Club 7’s greatest hits collection ‘Best’ is back in the chart at No. 35.
