Presenter Nick Cannon has praised his estranged wife on Mother's Day in the USA for being such a fantastic parent and role model to their twins, Moroccan and Monroe. 

Cannon split from the vocal sensation last summer after six years of marriage and took to his Instagram page yesterday to tell his followers that he has an incredible amount of respect for Carey, writing:

"Gotta represent for the Mother of my children. She is such a wonderful, thoughtful, festive, loving and nurturing Soul."

The star added: "I will forever be in debt to you for blessing me and the rest of the world with Roc & Roe. A true #Queen. Will love you always @MariahCarey #HappyMothersDay.(sic)"

Last year, following the pair's separation, Cannon told Extra that it's an adjustment and he's taking things very slowly: "I’m just taking everything one day at a time, and just being the best person that I can possibly be at the end of the day." Carey, meanwhile, will perform at this year's Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 17.
