'Stitches' sensation Shawn Mendes is enjoying fantastic success with the release of his debut album 'Handwritten' and has revealed to Ryan Seacrest that it's an 'amazing' feeling. 

Speaking to On Air with Seacrest, the Canadian heartthrob explained that his rise to fame has been incredible and he's overwhelmed by the support and the enthusiasm his fans have shown so far:

"It’s amazing. It actually has been the fastest thing in my entire life. I don’t think I’ve sat down for a second to think about how quick it’s happened, but it’s just been amazing. The reaction I’ve been getting — I couldn’t believe how well the album did. After working so hard on this for a bit and putting my all into it, to have a reaction like that on your very first album is something that makes you think, ‘I’m meant to do this type of thing.'”

In the same interview, Mendes opened up about wanting to attend his prom and confessed that he needs to find a date: “I haven’t exactly figured out how that’s going to go about, but I will be attending my school prom. There is [no one] yet. I guess I have to figure my stuff out then. I don’t have much time.”I like funny girls. I like dancers. I have a thing for girls who dance.”
