The 1975 announce UK tour and confirm new album

'Chocolate' hitmakers The 1975 worried fans this week after posting a cartoon strip on Twitter that appeared to be hinting at a possible split, but they have now announced details of a forthcoming UK headlining tour.

The band, which is fronted by Matt Healy, will perform a total of 16 shows in the UK in November this year to tie in with the release of their next record. Speaking about the new album in a letter to fans, Healy wrote:

"It's creation signifies the end of the most inspiring and challenging time that we've ever shared as friends and as artists. This is the beginning of a new chapter for The 1975. Our new record signifies the start of a new world for us, a more colourful world a less colourful world."

The first date on their upcoming UK tour will take place on November 9 at Liverpool University and the final gig is set to be held at the Manchester Academy on November 28. Tickets for the jaunt will go on pre-sale this week. The full tour schedule can be seen below.
