Singer Shawn Mendes has revealed that he used to watch fellow Canadian Justin Bieber's YouTube videos and dream of having a music career of his own, so now that he has considerable success it's amazing to look back on that. 

The heartthrob took to his Twitter page and explained that his new found fame is all down to the support and enthusiasm shown to him by his fans and for that he's very grateful:

"I remember watching him on YouTube and thinking how amazing it would be to do what he does. And now I'm doing it. I can't thank you guys enough for what you've done for me. Win or lose guys its all fun. I'm blown away with what you guys have done already!"

Mendes, meanwhile, has teamed up with MTV to offer one lucky fan an ultimate experience. The winner of the competition will win a meet and greet with the 'Stitches' hitmaker as well as the chance to eat cereal with him backstage at a concert.
