Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett's London show cancelled after Bennett falls ill

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett's scheduled concert tonight at the Royal Albert Hall has been cancelled.

The jazz legend was reportedly taken ill during soundcheck and has since taken to his official Twitter page to reassure fans that he is alright and is just dealing with a nasty case of the flu: "Sorry to not be singing in London tonight. I love my fans in the UK and appreciate all the well wishes to get over this flu quickly."

Gaga also posted an update via Twitter and apologised for the abrupt cancellation: "Hey everybody! Don't worry about Tony, he's ok! That's just showbiz sometimes. We'll catch u next time, we got you!"

The Royal Albert Hall also explained that ticket holders will be contacted in due course with information about the scheduled concert: "We're very sorry to say that tonight's concert has been cancelled due to Tony Bennett being taken ill. Apologies to disappointed fans. We will contact all ticket-holders as soon as we have any more information. We would also like to wish Tony a speedy recovery."
