Rod Stewart is the latest big name to be announced for BBC Radio 2's upcoming Hyde Park event.

The station is holding Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park in London on September 13.

Veteran Stewart will take to the stage at the event and he promised fans a varied set.

He told Radio 2's Chris Evans: "This show is going to be a one-time-only experience.

"I'm excited to do some of the fan favourites that I also love - in football terms, these are the impact players that often get left on the bench."

Other names due to perform at Hyde Park include The Corrs, Leona Lewis and Giorgio Moroder.

They're joined by Bryan Adams, Will Young, Kate Rusby, The Shires and Ward Thomas, and Shaun Escoffery.
