Justin Bieber is celebrating after winning a MuchMusic Video Award for the fifth time.

For the fifth year in a row, the Canadian bagged the fan fave artist prize at his native music ceremony.

Bieber took to Twitter after event took place on Sunday (June 21) to thank his fans.

The singer said: "#JustinForMMVA we did it! Love u Canada. Promise to make u proud.

"Grown up in front of u & grown a lot. Thanks for sticking with me. Love u."

Other winners at this year's MMVAs included co-host Ed Sheeran, who bagged the best international artist honour.

The Weeknd reigned in the best video, best pop video and most buzzworthy Canadian artist sections.

One Direction meanwhile went home with the fan fave international artist or group gong.
