Former Wanted singer Tom Parker can relate to Zayn Malik leaving One Direction.

The singer quit the global pop group in March in order to life a more normal life.

The Wanted meanwhile, who were often pitted as rivals to One Direction, went on hiatus last year.

Speaking to Hello!, Parker said that he can see why Malik quit his band.

The singer said: "I don't think anyone realises how tough it is being in a manufactured boy band.

"When Zayn left 1D I totally understood why he couldn't handle it any more."

One Direction have continued as a four-piece and a new album is in the pipeline.
