Leona Lewis has expressed her excitement about Zayn Malik's solo material.

The singer left One Direction in March in order to spend time out of the boyband limelight.

He has been working with Naughty Boy on tunes and anticipation is high.

The producer recently said that Malik's solo music is "very soulful".

Speaking on Twitter this week, Leona Lewis said that she is intrigued to hear the singer's evolution.

She said: "I'm actually really excited to hear what kind of record @zaynmalik makes now."

The Brit meanwhile will release her new album 'I Am' on September 11.
