Little Mix and Fifth Harmony among acts taking part in first global release day

The likes of Little Mix and Fifth Harmony are taking part in the first global release day.

Today (July 10) sees music industries across the world align their release days for the first time.

It has received the tag 'New Music Fridays', with the UK's chart rundown shifting from its traditional Sunday slot to Friday.

Among the releases on the landmark day is Little Mix's new single 'Black Magic'.

Singer Jesy Nelson told The Official Charts Company: "We’re very excited for it to chart – we’re scared! Obviously we’re hoping that it gets to Number 1. Fingers crossed, we’re going to stay positive and keep pushing!"

Fifth Harmony meanwhile are releasing their debut album 'Reflection' in the UK.

Avicii's single 'Waiting For Love' has been unleashed in the UK, as has Nick Jonas' 'Chains'.

Metallers Between The Buried And Me have released their new album 'Coma Ecliptic' globally.
