Actress Susan Sarandon defends Ariana Grande

Last week, songstress Ariana Grande raised eyebrows after footage showing her licking doughnuts in a store and declaring "I hate America" surfaced online

Now, actress Susan Sarandon has rushed to defend the 'Problem' beauty and admitted that she found her to be a delight to work with. During a new interview with Vulture, the iconic Hollywood star explained that they recently shot a film together and she was impressed with how professional and lovely Grande was:

"Well, I just worked with her. We did 'Zoolander 2' together, in Rome. She couldn’t be more professional or sweet. Her mom is great. Clearly [her remarks were] taken out of context. But of all the things -- if only that energy was put to the study of the effects of GMOs, which affect your health a lot more than licking a donut. People should be outraged by what Monsanto is doing, not Ariana.”

Sarandon went onto add that it's unfair to see masses of people rushing to criticise her: “She’s smart, and she’s a really great, very talented person. It’s just ridiculous they’re jumping on her the way they are."
