Jesy Nelson, of Little Mix fame, is engaged to Rixton's Jake Roche and the proposal was incredibly romantic. 

The pair have been dating for a year now and Roche posted a photograph (shown left) of himself down on one knee via Instagram and explained that he knew it was the right time to propose: "A year ago today I met her at Manchester Arena, so it was only right, with a little help from my friend, that this happened. Best day of my life."

Roche took to his official Twitter page tonight (July 19) and told his followers that it was an amazing moment: "Travelled 5 hours to sing our favourite song on his day off. I will never ever be able to repay you. Love you pal. @edsheeran." Upon seeing the tweet, Sheeran replied and wrote: "@Jake_Rixton my absolute pleasure. Thanks for the KFC."

Roche's mother, Coleen Nolan, recently told viewers of her ITV chat show 'Loose Women' that Nelson is definitely the right girl for him and she hopes they get married: "I'm thinking about my hat as we speak. Jake, I think she's 'The One'."
