Shawn Mendes praises followers for sticking by him: 'Before the music, I had the fans'

Canadian sensation Shawn Mendes has praised his amazing fanbase for always being there for him.

During a new interview with B96 Chicago, the 'Stitches' hitmaker explained that he owes everything to the constant support and dedication of his fans:

"It's these guys, honestly. The coolest thing about how the career has gone, for me, is that before the music I had the fans. They stuck with me and really brought me to the next level because it was right when 'Life Of The Party' came out - I highly doubt the song would have been No.1 without having my fans support me. That was what pushed me to the top, which was awesome. It's them I owe it all to."

Earlier this month, Mendes took to his official Twitter page and told his followers that he will always make time for them while he's on the road: "I will always stop to say hi to you guys unless I really have no time to. I owe you guys everything. I'll never forget that."
