Prince set to release new album 'The Hit & Run Album' soon

Prince is set to release another album, according to his band 3rdEyeGirl.

The group - who feature Donna Grantis, Ida Nielsen and Hannah Ford Welton - told the BBC that the musician will release 'The Hit & Run Album' 'soon'.

It was written with the help of Grantis' husband Joshua Welton, who producded Prince's 2014 record 'Art Official Age'.

The band told BBC 6 Music: "It's phenomenal, there are so many hits on this album. It's super experimental.

"Super hardcore Prince fans that know every song he's ever recorded - we refer to them as 'The Purple Collective' or 'The Purple Army' - this album is absolutely for them, because it's super funky.

"It's weird, there's a lot of experimental sound. It's just hit after hit and definitely caters to those fans who just love to hear what Prince has to say, rather than wanting to always hear that classic Purple Rain Prince sound."

3rdEyeGirl added that the tune 'Hardrocklover', which emerged online recently, will be the album's first single.
