The director of Beyond the Lights has admitted that she has regrets over asking Rita Ora to sing the movie's theme.

The 'Poison' star performed the track 'Grateful' for the film and the tune was nominated for an Oscar this year.

However, director Gina Prince-Bythewood told a fan during a Twitter Q&A this weekend that she regrets asking Ora to take part because of her apparent lack of promotion.

The user asked: "Did Rita Ora come to you for the song? Or did you ask her?"

The director replied: "I asked her. Wish I didn't as she didn't promote song at all."

The track meanwhile was written by Dianne Warren.
