Writer John Green shoots down Taylor Swift movie rumours

Famous YA author John Green has confirmed that he hasn't approached Taylor Swift to star in a forthcoming movie adaptation of his amazing novel, 'Looking For Alaska', despite rumours suggesting otherwise.

Seventeen magazine ran a story this week with the headline, "John Green is considering Taylor Swift to star in 'Looking For Alaska'," and the writer took to his official Twitter page to explain that there's no truth in this report at all:

"I made a joke about how she should play every role like Eddie Murphy in Norbit. It was clearly a joke... Taylor is tremendously talented and I'm a HUGE fan, but 1. I don't cast movies... and 2. I think she's busy being the world's biggest pop star."

On July 23, Swift took to her own Twitter page and told her fans that she loves Green's books and can't wait to watch the forthcoming film adaptation of 'Paper Towns': "John Green is my favourite writer and @Caradelevingne @halstonsage @natandalex are some of my favourite people. Can't WAIT to see Paper Towns."

Actress Amanda Seyfried, meanwhile, recently told Spanish newspaper El Mundo that she would be up for playing Taylor Swift in a biopic although she doesn't think that opportunity is likely to present itself: "Taylor Swift ... but I don't think I would. I've tried pretty much everything, to be honest. But if I had to choose something it'll be biographies."
