Canadian sensation Shawn Mendes is set to make a special appearance in the third season of 'The 100', which is a popular American post-apocalyptic drama television series. 

The show's executive producer, Jason Rothenberg, told E! News that Mendes approached him on social media about maybe making a cameo and they ended up figuring out a way to include him in what has been described as a very "unique" way:

"Shawn is a big fan of the show, and reached out to me on Twitter about potentially working together. He's a very talented artist, and we knew we wanted to do something special and different for the premiere. Shawn gave us a unique opportunity and I can't wait for our fans to see our collaboration."

E! News reports that the 'Stitches' superstar will play a "scrappy young Ark survivor who gets into a tricky situation and uses his particular talents to get out of it".

Yesterday (July 29), Mendes shared a snapshot of himself posing outside of a trailer on Instagram and accompanied the photograph (pictured below) with the following caption: "HEY GUYS!!! I'M GUNNA BE ON #THE100!!! SO EXCITED!!"
