The Maccabees and Lianne La Havas battle it out for No.1 on the UK Albums Chart

Indie rock band The Maccabees and songstress Lianne La Havas (pictured below) are going head-to-head for this week’s Official Albums Chart top spot.

'Marks To Prove It' by The Maccabees currently leads the way, outselling La Havas' 'Blood' (No.2) by just over 300 copies at this midway stage - but with four days of sales and streaming still to go, this could all change.

To date, both acts share an Official Albums Chart peak, with The Maccabees' 'Given To The Wind' (2012) and Lianne La Havas’ 'Is Your Love Big Enough' (2012) both hitting No.4 upon release.

Elsewhere, former chart-topper 'Communion' by Years & Years is on track for a fourth week in the Top 5, sliding one place to No.3 in today’s update. Following their deluxe edition re-issues, Led Zeppelin’s final three studio albums, 1976's 'Presence' (4), 1979's 'In Through The Out Door' (6) and 1982's 'Coda' (5) are on course to re-enter the Top 10 on Friday.

Joss Stone is heading for a fifth UK Top 20 album this week with 'Water For Your Soul' at No.12, while The Clash’s 1979 album 'London Calling' is set to re-enter the Top 40 for the first time in 35 years at No.15.

Foo Fighters’ 'Greatest Hits' climbs 22 places to No.19 on today’s update. The band are currently on tour and hit the headlines last week after a video of 1000 Italian fans performing the band’s song 'Learn To Fly' went viral.

After its re-release this week, Michael Head And The Strands’ 'The Magical World Of The Strands' lands at No.23 this evening, as The Shires’ debut 'Brave' climbs 45 places to sit at No.27. Bob Marley & The Wailers’ 'Legend' is at No.36 and Queen’s 'Greatest Hits' both also head for the Top 40 on Friday.
