Canadian sensation Shawn Mendes has revealed that he will be performing live at an Island Records showcase in New York next month. 

The heartthrob took to his official Twitter page this afternoon (August 4) and told his followers that he will be at the Best Buy Theatre in New York City on September 8 and tickets for the show are on sale now here: "Performin' at #IslandLifeNYC @bestbuy_theater with my @IslandRecords friends 9/8 ! Get tix here."

Other artists on the bill include 'Jealous' hitmaker Nick Jonas, American Authors, 'Hideaway' songstress Kiesza, and Timeflies. Mendes and Jonas, meanwhile, are also both on the line-up for this year's iHeartRadio Music Festival, which is set to be held on September 18 and Saturday, September 19 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

Mendes also recently sat down for an interview with B96 Chicago and admitted that he doesn't have bodyguards trailing him everywhere he goes and understands that being approached in public by fans is just part of the path he has chosen:

"Totally, I think that I'm a firm believer in... as long as, like, you don't put yourself... I can go anywhere I want and if people want to take pictures or say hi - they can. We're all humans - it doesn't matter what type of career you have. It doesn't stop me from doing regular person things, it's just a little different!"
