Earlier tonight (August 4), a story broke that suggested Zayn Malik has called off his engagement to Little Mix beauty, Perrie Edwards. 

People magazine reported that 22-year-old singer Malik had contacted Edwards, also 22, two weeks ago and said it was over between them. The magazine also quoted an anonymous source as saying, "she's been putting on a brave face as Little Mix have had promotion to do, but she's obviously devastated."

Billboard magazine later picked up the story and threw more weight behind the unconfirmed rumours, adding that "a rep confirmed the report to" them.

This news comes just days after Malik and Perrie were named as the sexiest man and woman in pop by Capital FM. The pair beat the likes of Adam Lambert, Harry Styles, Ariana Grande, and Fifth Harmony's Camila Cabello to the joint title.
