The Spice Girls appear to have poured cold water over speculation that they will reunite as a quartet to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

The Sun reported today (August 7) that the iconic 90s group will hit the road next year without Victoria Beckham to mark the milestone.

However, singer Mel C took to Twitter to appear to cool the speculation. She said:

"Woke up this morning wondering whether I need to start practising my backflips???!!!"

Emma Bunton replied to the message: "Do I need to put my pigtails in?!?!?"

The group last performed together at the London 2012 Olympics.
