Jess Glynne poised to make Official Charts history this week

Songstress Jess Glynne could be entering the Official Charts history books this week as her latest single 'Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself' takes an early lead on the UK Top 40.

If the song holds on to its lead until Friday (August 21), it would become her fifth chart-topping single and would also match Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s record of five Number 1s on the Official Singles Chart – the most for a British solo female.

Glynne’s previous chart leaders are 'Rather Be' (with Clean Bandit in 2014), 'My Love' (with Route 94 in 2014), 'Hold My Hand' (2015) and 'Not Letting Go' (with Tinie Tempah in 2015).

Close behind at No.2 is last week’s chart-topper 'Marvin Gaye' by Charlie Puth ft. Meghan Trainor, and Calvin Harris & Disciples’ 'How Deep Is Your Love' is at No.3. French DJ and producer Martin Solveig is on track to land his first UK Top 10 single this week with his GTA collaboration 'Intoxicated', up 104 places to No.4, and The Weeknd’s 'Can’t Feel My Face' completes the Top 5.

Rising star Pia Mia vaults from 67 to No.11 on today’s update with 'Do It Again' ft. Chris Brown, and 5 Seconds Of Summer’s 'Fly Away', which is the latest release from their upcoming second album 'Sounds Good Feels Good', is at 13. Further down today’s Update Top 40, Maroon 5 are on course to land their 17th UK Top 40 with 'This Summer’s Gonna Hurt Like A' at No.22 and Swedish production duo Galantis leap 15 places to No.26 with their latest track 'Peanut Butter Jelly'.
