Jess Glynne on debut album: 'It’s all about hope and positivity'

Jess Glynne says she channelled heartbreak when writing her debut album.

The British singer unleash her debut effort 'I Cry When I Laugh' on Friday (August 21).

Speaking to Capital FM, the musician said that she turned darkness into a positive message during her writing sessions.

Glynne said: "This album’s so important to me.

"It’s a journey that I’ve been on in the last few years. It’s all about hope and positivity.

"I started writing it when I was heartbroken and in a really dark place but I chose not to write a heartbreak record.

"So it’s just a positive, hopeful record that makes people feel good."
