CHVRCHES star: 'Criticism and hatred are different'CHVRCHES singer Lauren Mayberry has spoken out against online misogyny on national TV. The Scot appeared on Channel 4 News on Thursday (August 27) to discuss the problem of receiving female-targeted online comments. The video for her group's new single 'Leave A Trace' sparked a vile sexist reaction online recently because she was pictured with wet hair. Mayberry said: "I am a 27-year-old woman wearing a minidress with wet-look hair. "If you don't like it, that's fine, but there is a difference between criticism and hatred." The CHVRCHES star added: "This happens to women all the time anyway, and I hate the idea that young girls who follow our band deal with stuff like that. "I don't want them to feel isolated, I don't want them to feel like it is just happening to them, because it happens everywhere." Follow us: @Pressparty on Twitter / Pressparty on Facebook.
