Canadian singer Shawn Mendes has opened up about his friendship with Fifth Harmony beauty Camila Cabello and praised her for being so "awesome". 

During a red carpet interview with Hollywire at the recent MTV VMAs, the heartthrob explained that he has a lot of time for the songstress and loves having her around because she's so warm and positive:

"Me and Camila are very good friends. She's amazing, she's so funny and so awesome and so enthusiastic."

The superstar went onto add that he especially likes how she will brighten up any mood: "She will bring any negative situation you have and make it positive which is really cool."

While the 'Stitches' sensation was talking about his admiration for the 'Worth It' hitmaker Cabello, she appeared and jumped in on the interview and joked that Mendes is not doing so well at learning Spanish with her.
