Keith Richards criticises Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift

Rolling Stones legend Keith Richards has taken a swipe at the leading pop stars of this generation and confessed that while they're nice enough, the music they make won't stand the test of time.

Speaking to GQ magazine about the Canadian sensation, Richards praised him as a person but didn't have nice things to say about his music: "Justin Bieber? Actually I met this guy and found him quite humble, as he should be. His music? I mean it's a load of crap isn't it?"

He went onto talk about Taylor Swift and revealed that he doesn't see her as competition because she probably won't enjoy great longevity: "Taylor is a pretty girl. I don't think about the competition. I mean they're the flavour of the month, aren't they?"

Richards recently told New York Daily News that he has no appreciation for rap music either: "Rap – so many words, so little said. What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there. All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another."
