Lana Del Rey's 'Video Games' is now certified Platinum in the UK

Songstress Lana Del Rey is celebrating an amazing achievement in the United Kingdom this afternoon (September 11) as her breakthrough single 'Video Games' has now been certified Platinum.

The British Phonographic Industry shared the news this afternoon and tweeted the following message: "‘Video Games’ by @LanaDelRey is now Platinum in the UK." Platinum certification of a single in the UK by the BPI means that it has sold over 600,000 copies.

Her highly anticipated new studio album 'Honeymoon' is due to be released next week on September 18 and it boasts a total of 14 tracks, including lead single 'High By The Beach'. The record also includes a cover of Nina Simone's 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood'.

Back in July, Del Rey opened up about the inspiration behind her new album and told her Instagram followers that it's eclectic: "There are so many other tracks on the record, 13 others to be exact- Some with a muddy trap energy and some inspired by late-night Miles Davis drives… But I love this song because it encapsulates all of the things that come naturally to me."
