Justin Bieber has confirmed that he is currently single.

The singer was quizzed about his relationship status during a new appearance on US TV's Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The Canadian said: "I’m single, ladies - and ready to mingle.

"I’m in a place now. I don’t know if I’m ready for a relationship right now."

The 21-year-old meanwhile recently admitted in an interview that he had his heart broken after splitting from Selena Gomez last year.

Bieber said: "I haven't been in a relationship for a while now.

"I got my heart broken. I'm just trying to let that heal up."
