Actress Lisa Riley supports Cheryl after body-shaming row

Lisa Riley, known for playing the character of Mandy Dingle on 'Emmerdale' in the UK, has revealed that she supports Cheryl Fernandez-Versini in her call to ban body-shaming because it's a truly horrid thing to experience.

Riley (pictured left) has lost around four stone since taking part in 'Strictly Come Dancing' three years ago and told The Mirror that she has been judged in the same way Cheryl was recently so she knows how much it hurts:

"I completely agree with Cheryl. Body shaming is completely and utterly wrong. I want to be judged because I am a good actress or a good presenter – that is all."

She went onto add that nobody should be judged on their appearance because it's incredibly personal and no one else really knows what may be going on inside:

"No matter what I look like I shouldn’t be judged, it is nobody else’s business. And I believe it’s exactly the same for Cheryl. Yes, she has lost some weight but it is her business, nobody else’s. Just look at her – she could wear a bin-liner and still look phenomenal. Just because we are in the public eye doesn’t mean we are mannequins. If our weight fluctuates it doesn’t matter.”
